The 23-year-old, who hails from Imphal joined the Army Boys Academy in Shillong at the age of 12. Incidentally at the academy, he met Jackichand Singh who happened to be hailing from a neighbouring village and it was therein that the foundations of their camaraderie were installed.
At the academy, Seityasen was trained under the tutelage of Nepal's Anju Thakuri. He made the cut for the Manipur Under-14 team and it didn’t take him long to establish himself. Young Seityasen was called for the India Under-19 camp but wasn't selected however.
He came into limelight in the 2011 Federation Cup where he skippered the 'giant-killing' Royal Wahingdoh side who downed Churchill Brothers 2-1. Toiling away in the second division, the break finally arrived when Royal Wahingdoh finally qualified for the top division in 2014.
The self professed Cristiano Ronaldo fan was instrumental in his side's third placed finish alongside Jackichand, and scored a hat-trick amongst his six goals in the season.
A gifted flair player, Seityasen is a fleet-footed winger who revels in cutting inside and shooting at goal. That was pretty evident when he single-handedly dismantled Salgaocar, scoring a hat-trick in the 4-2 win. Comfortable on both wings and eager to learn, Seityasen can become a regular first team member of any ISL side, especially with his penchant for tracking back and helping in defense. Moreover with the base price of 20 lakhs, clubs can easily take a gamble on him.
With only a solitary season at the top level, Seityasen might find it difficult to adapt in the ISL. Moreover like any flair player, selfishness is an important attribute of his which may not suit the ISL teams.
