''<br /> <br /> =Armur Taluk, 1908=<br /> <br /> Taluk in Nizamabad District, Hyderabad State, <br /> with an area of 1,038 square miles. The population in 1901, including <br /> Jagirs, was 122,455, compared with 123,285 in 1891. The taluk <br /> contains two towns, Armur (population, 9,031), the head-quarters, and <br /> Balkonda (5,118), a jaglr town; and 160 villages, of which 51 are <br /> jaglr. The land revenue in 1901 was 3-6 lakhs. The statistics include <br /> the svfo-taluk of Blmgal, which was merged in Armur in 1905, and had <br /> an area of 491 square miles and a population of 54,290 in 1901. Rice <br /> is largely raised by tank irrigation. The taluk is hilly in the centre, and <br /> the Godavari flows through the north.</div>
