=Jampur Town=&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Head-quarters of the Jampur tahsil of Dera Ghazi &lt;br /&gt;
Khan District, Punjab, situated in 29° 39' N. and 7o°39 ' E.,  32 miles &lt;br /&gt;
south of Dera Ghazi Khan town. Population (1901), 5,928. There is a &lt;br /&gt;
considerable export of indigo to Multan and Sukkur, and a good deal of &lt;br /&gt;
lac turnery is carried on. The municipality was created in 1873. The &lt;br /&gt;
income and expenditure during the ten years ending 1902-3 averaged &lt;br /&gt;
Rs. 10,100 and Rs. 9,600 respectively. In 1903-4 the income was &lt;br /&gt;
Rs. 11,500, chiefly from octroi; and the expenditure was Rs. 12,500. &lt;br /&gt;
The town has an Anglo-vernacular middle school, maintained by the &lt;br /&gt;
