=Kanethi=&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Petty State feudatory to the Bashahr State, Punjab&lt;br /&gt;
lying in two portions between 31 degree  9' and 31 degree 18' N. and 77 degree  32' and &lt;br /&gt;
77° 40' E. The area is 19 square miles, the population (1901) 2,5751 &lt;br /&gt;
and the revenue Rs. 4,000, about half of which is derived from forests. &lt;br /&gt;
The present Thakur is Amog Chand, a Hindu Rajput, related to the &lt;br /&gt;
Rana of Kumharsain. His territory is bounded by Kumharsain, &lt;br /&gt;
Bashahr, and the Kot Khaxpargana of Simla District. The State has &lt;br /&gt;
suffered much from misgovernment, and it has been necessary to take &lt;br /&gt;
it under direct management. The Thakur, who is a minor, is being &lt;br /&gt;
educated at the Aitchison College ; and during his minority the admin- &lt;br /&gt;
istration is conducted by an official deputed by Government, who &lt;br /&gt;
exercises full powers, except that sentences of death require the con- &lt;br /&gt;
firmation of the Superintendent, Hill States, Simla. The State pays &lt;br /&gt;
