Trained as a miniaturist, Zeeshan is skilled and creates works of great beauty while injecting them with a wicked sense of humour or a philosophical slant. At the beginning of the art fair, he immersed two of his beautiful paintings-made of gold on wasli paper-into a tank that slowly filled with ink. At the end of the fair, the paintings were lost in the ink and all that was left was soggy paper with ghosts of images. While Zeeshan did have a work for sale at the gallery booth, he destroyed the two works to make a point: &quot;It is my comment on the commoditisation of art and the ephemeral nature of beauty.&quot; Mia Jankowicz, a writer and independent curator in Cairo and London, says, &quot;Zeeshan's works show how necessary the delicate balance between continuity and rupture is to contemporary practice.&quot;</div>
