Town in the District and taluk of Bidar, Hyderabad State, situated in 17 degree 36' N. and 77 degree 43' E., 24 miles south-east of Bidar town. Population (1901), 6,379. It contains the tombs of two well- known Musalman saints, besides numerous mosques; the Jama Masjid, erected during the reign of the Bahmani kings, is a building of note. The town contains a middle and girls' school, a post office, and the police inspector's office. Kohir is celebrated for its mangoes.

Note: National, provincial and district boundaries have changed considerably since 1908. Typically, old states, ‘divisions’ and districts have been broken into smaller units, and many tahsils upgraded to districts. Some units have since been renamed. Therefore, this article is being posted mainly for its historical value.
