AB: Bhargava, Anil, Binaca Geetmala ka Sureela Safar (Hindi; 2007; Rs.1,200), Vangmaya Prakashan, Jaipur-302015. vangmaya_jpr@yahoo.com) On the Geetmala ki Chhaon Mein set of 50 CDs, the sample ranks of songs mentioned by Mr Ameen Sayani for 1994-2000 (indeed, for 1984-2000) are exactly the same as those of the Sureela Safar.

MR is the ‘meta-rank’ derived from the extent of agreement between the charts cited on this page. It has been seen that some charts award unusually high or low ranks to particular songs, distorting their overall ‘meta-rank.’ Therefore:

i) it should not be assumed that Indpaedia has assigned this meta-rank of its own or that Indpaedia agrees with it; and

ii) Each chart’s original ranks have been given to enable the reader to decide which chart is the most accurate. It will not be proper for Indpaedia to say that one chart is more reliable than another.

Unfortunately, after the winding-up of Binaca Geet Mala there were very few annual charts and Indpaedia has had to rely on whatever was available.
