Mantra for change

Let children grow up, though slowly.

For Shailesh Shirali, teaching and learning mathematics is the joy of life. This is why the Ph.D in Operations Research from University of Texas, US, found his calling as a mathematics teacher in Rishi Valley School near Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to children about mathematics and astronomy while watching and taking care of animals are what make him tick. A follower of J. Krishnamurti, Shirali has published several highly appreciated papers even as he conducts mathematics workshops across the country.
