April 29-30, 1999 | Model-cumbartender Jessica Lall shot at a party in Qutub Colonnade restaurant in south Delhi. Later succumbs to gunshot wounds. 

May 2, 1999 | Delhi Police recovers Tata Safari car belonging to prime suspect Manu Sharma, son of Haryana Congres leader Venod Sharma, from Noida. 

May 6, 1999 | Manu surrenders in Chandigarh. Subsequently, 10 co-accused, including Vikas Yadav, son of UP politician D P Yadav, arrested. 

Aug 3, 1999 | Chargesheet filed under various sections of IPC. 

May 3, 2001 | Complainant and eyewitness Shayan Munshi resiles from his statement given to police and fails to identify Manu in court.

Feb 21, 2006 | Trial court acquits all 9 accused due to lack of evidence, leading to a huge media outcry and sustained campaign for justice.

Dec 18, 2006 | HC convicts Manu, Vikas Yadav and Amardeep Singh Gill alias Tony and acquits Aloke Khanna, Vikas Gill, Harvinder Singh Chopra, Raja Chopra, Shyam Sunder Sharma and Yograj Singh. 

Dec 20, 2006 | HC awards life term to Manu Sharma with a fine of Rs 50,000 and sentences co-convicts Amardeep Singh Gill and Vikas Yadav to four years’ prison term with Rs 3,000 fine each. It also begins suo moto proceedings against Shayan Munshi and 31 others for lying in court .
