COMMUNICATION and Information Technology in the country is handled by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology at the Centre. The Ministry contains three departments namely:
• Department of Posts: See Posts, Department of: Indian government data
• Department of Telecommunications (See Telecommunications, Department of : Indian government data )
, and
• Department of Information Technology. (See INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: Indian government data)
The salient features of those departments, main activities and initiatives taken by them in this sector are given there.
