A profile
He has returned as the pre-eminent environmentalist in India after being retained on the council for climate change, recently reconstituted by the Prime Minister.
As the head of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change since 2002, he is one of the most influential voices on environmental and energy issues.
