Head-quarters of the District and taluk of the same name in Hyderabad State, situated in 19 degree 4' N. and 78 degree 33' E. Population (1901), 6,303. Besides the offices of the First Talukdar, the police Superintendent, the customs inspector, and the forest daroga, a dispensary, a post office, and a school are situated here. Adilabad contains a Hindu temple, where an annual fair is held. It also has a busy grain market.
