Rosewood log from 100-year-old tree gets record price at auction, October 12, 2018: The Times of India

A rosewood log — which came from a century-old tree — fetched a price of Rs 7.15 lakh/cu m, a record price obtained for this wood at a government auction in the state. The class-I log — with a length of 310cm and a girth of 246cm — cost the buyers Rs 10.58 lakh, including taxes, at a recent auction in Kuppady timber depot of the forest department in Wayanad under Kozhikode timber sales division. The division said it is a record price for rosewood.
