A bronze in the World championship and a `board' silver at the World Team championship made it Harika's year. Of course, her defeat in the World championship semis to Ukraine's Mariya Muzychuk via tiebreak games was tough to swallow. But the 24-year-old was not found wanting in either consistency or preparation. It was her second World championship bronze after winning it in 2012.

Twice in the world’s Top Five
Harika back in Top Five of world chess rankings, Oct 12 2016 : The Times of India
India's Grand Master Harika Dronavalli broke back into the top five in the world chess rankings after a commanding show in the Isle of Man International Chess tournament that concluded earlier this week.
This is the second time during this year that Harika has scaled such heights, soaring on a series of wins and commendable performances.
Harika not only finished with 5.5 points in the Isle of Man tournament but also emerged as the one of the top woman player at the event. She four games out of nine, including a victory over world no. 1 Hou Yifan of China.
