2019: among world’s Top 10
It’s rare for an Indian sportsperson to figure in the world’s top 10 in any discipline. Saurav Ghosal recently made history by becoming the first Indian male squash player to enter this elite bracket. However, this is not the first time that Ghosal has achieved such a feat.
He was the first Indian player to be ranked world’s No. 1 junior. He was also the first to bag the junior National championship three years in a row. He also won the country’s first medal in squash in the Doha Asian Games.
The 32-year-old thanked his coach David Palmer with whom he has been working since June last year and his long-time coach Malcolm Willstrop.
