HEARTENING REVIVAL : Students arrive at DAV School in Srinagar, which opened recently after being shut down 33 years ago with the eruption of militancy in J&K. After its closure, the building was taken over by a local man in 1992 and he established a private institute named Naqshbandi Public School, reports Saleem Pandit . However, the school was later reclaimed by the Arya Samaj Trust after a legal battle. The school has 35 students from underprivileged families and does not charge any fees, although parents voluntarily contribute Rs 500 a month. The principal, a Lucknow native who chose not to be named, said, ‘Initially, when we approached residents, they were hesitant to send their children to this school. However, in the end, they agreed’
