Ahmedabad : Benedicton Rohit continued his fine form this season by claiming the silver in the 50m butterfly at the Asian Aquatics Championships in Ahmedabad. The 21-year-old Tamil Nadu swimmer, the first Indian to break the 24-second barrier at the World University Games in July, challenged Kazakhstan’s Adilbek Mussin for gold. Rohit finished in 23.89 seconds, just behind Mussin (23.74s), while Mussin’s compatriot Maxim Skazobtov took bronze in 23.9s.

India’s second medal on the penultimate day of swimming action came from their star swimmer, Srihari Nataraj, who once again stood tall for the hosts, clinching a bronze in the 100m freestyle event. TNN
