Previous Teams : Mahindra United, Salgaocar, United Sikkim, Mumbai Tigers.
Thoi Singh began his career with Mahindra United in 2007 before moving on to Salgaocar after three seasons. This was after the Mumbai club disbanded. At Salgaocar, he struggled to break into the first eleven. Following brief stints with the Goan outfit, United Sikkim and Mumbai Tigers, he finally put down roots when he joined Bengaluru FC in 2013. He played a part in the club's maiden season and helped them land a historical I-League title on their first attempt. The Manipur midfielder then followed that up with a Federation Cup win earlier this year.
He often played a key role in midfield for Ashley Westwood's troops in the past season, making 16 appearances in the I-League as Bengaluru finished as runners-up. He is yet to feature for the national side.
The 24-year-old midfielder is renowned for his energetic displays and tenacious ball-winning qualities. However, he's also begun to chip in with a few goals, registering five times in the Iatest I-League campaign. Thoi has an exceptional work-rate and can be relied on to make lake runs into the box to support the attack.
The diminutive midfielder is technically gifted as well and particularly comes to life during quick transitions between defence and attack. He also has the distinction of having won both, the I-League as well as the Federation Cup quite early on in his career and has the potential to achieve much more.
At just 5'6", Thoi lacks a physical presence in midfield and naturally struggles in aerial duels. He is also relatively inexperienced as he only entered the fray in the last couple of season and has never tasted international football at senior level. Taking that into consideration, a base price of 39 lakhs is pretty hefty not just for a potential suitor to shell out but also for the youngster to perform under.
