Not shy of addressing their students as ‘customers’ of the institute, sisters Swati Majumdar and Vidya Yeravdekar are committed to the satisfaction of the 2.5 lakh youngsters who walk through the portals of Symbiosis University annually.
Set up in 1971 by their father Shantaram Balwant Majumdar, under Swati the Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning has become a pioneer of e-learning in Asia, while Vidya, giving up her successful career as a doctor, has set up a Centre for Health Care and an Institute of Health Sciences.
As the principal director of Symbiosis, she now plans to take the Symbiosis network outside the country, while Swati is the brain behind the corporate learning programme where faculty members travel to corporate campuses.
