World champion in 2006
Manavjit Sandhu became the first Indian shooter to be crowned a world champion in 2006. He was also ranked No. 1 in the world then.He won a bucketful of medals in the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and even in the World Cups after that. But he could never get to live his childhood dream of an Olympic medal.
Ten years down the line, Manavjit, who seems to have shed a lot of weight at the age of 40, went to The Olympics: India (2016) looking for that elusive medal in his fourth Olympics. Without luck. Alok Sinha Aug 08 2016 : The Times of India (Delhi)
