From playing hideand-seek with friends to setting the basketball court on fire with her consistent performance, Prashanti Singh is definitely a role model for any aspiring sports woman.

Prashanti is the only Indian cager to have competed in two Asian Games. She was the skipper at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and at many Asian championships, and has a record of winning 22 national medals.

Basketball runs in her family. All five sisters are hoopsters of repute. The jovial Singh sisters took up the sport in Varanasi and ended up living together in Delhi. For being a part of the Indian team since last 17 years and achieving the Arjuna, Prashanti gives the credit of her success to family. “Finally, my efforts were considered and my family's hard work for the last 25 years has paid off,“ Prashanti told. She added, “This is the first big achievement of my family. We five sisters cannot imagine our lives without basketball.“
