Isagarh Zila

District of the Gwalior State, Central India, lying between 24° 3' and 25° 12' N. and 76° 52' and 78° 20' E., with an area of 3,591 square miles. The population in 1901 was 248,679, giving a density of 75 persons per square mile. The district contains two towns, MungaolT (population, 4,797), the head-quarters, and GuNA (including the military station, 11,452); and 1,367 villages. The country on the eastern and western borders is hilly, while that in the centre of the tract is typical of the Malwa plateau. It is divided into four parganas, with head-quarters at Bajranggarh, Kumbhraj, Isagarh, and Mungaoli. The land revenue is Rs. 4,97,000.
