Puttur Tahsil
Zamindari tahsil in North Arcot District, Madras, consisting of the northern half of the KARVETNAGAR samindan. Area, 542 square miles ; population m 1901, 170,235, compared with 155,546 in 1891 It contains 340 villages, the head-quarters being PUTTUR.
