While Dhanush has made his foray into Bollywood with much aplomb, there have been several Bollywood actors who have made sporadic appearances in South films. We list down 10 such actors.

Anil Kapoor is a prominent name today in Bollywood and even Hollywood cinema. But not many know that the actor started his career with a Kannada film Pallavi Anu Pallavi directed by Mani Ratnam.

Early in his career, Akshay Kumar starred in a Kannada film Vishnu Vijaya alongside Kannada superstar Vishnu Vardhan.

Nana Patekar acted as one of the leads in Tamil director Bharathiraja's film Bommalattam, where his role as an artistic mentor won him applause.

After his role in the Tamil film Aaranya Kaandam, Jackie Shroff is quite sought after in all the four South Indian languages.

Amitabh Bachchan made a special appearance in Kannada film Amritdhare where he played himself.

Sonu Sood might have started as hero in Hindi films but he gained much recognition for his negative roles in South films like Super and Arundhati

Amol Palekar, early in his career, acted in some Malayalam films. Olangal is one of them.

Despite being of South Indian origin, Sunil Shetty didn’t work in many South films. He just made a cameo in a Malayalam film Kakkakuyil in a song sequence.

In 2010, Manoj Bajpayee played a negative character of Raheemuddin Qureshi in the Telugu film Vedam.

Sharat Saxena has been playing the villain sidekick for ages now. But he graduated to the main villain’s role in Telugu cinema with films like Mutamestri starring Chiranjeevi.
