| + | With alliance partners National People’s Party (NPP) and United Democratic Party (UDP) candidates winning the bypolls to the South Tura (ST) and Ranikor assembly seats respectively on Monday, BJP-backed Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) has further consolidated its position in the 60-member assembly. MDA has increased its tally from 37 to 39 in the House. In the Meghalaya assembly, BJP and NCP with 2 and 1 seats, respectively, are backing the MDA government led by the NPP which has 20 seats. UDP (8 seats), People’s Democratic Front (4 seats), Hill State People’s Democratic Party (2 seats) and 2 independents are supporting MDA. While Meghalaya CM and NPP candidate Conrad Sangma won the South Tura seat by 8,421 votes, UDP’s Pius Marwein bagged the Ranikor seat with a margin of 2,896 votes. Pius defeated NPP candidate. | ||

With alliance partners National People’s Party (NPP) and United Democratic Party (UDP) candidates winning the bypolls to the South Tura (ST) and Ranikor assembly seats respectively on Monday, BJP-backed Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) has further consolidated its position in the 60-member assembly. MDA has increased its tally from 37 to 39 in the House. In the Meghalaya assembly, BJP and NCP with 2 and 1 seats, respectively, are backing the MDA government led by the NPP which has 20 seats.
