The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) is a conglomerate of 16 schools and colleges located at 4 campuses established to provide instructional and research facilities for technologies central to industry and defence systems.
Opportunities for students both during and after an NUST education reflect the NUST’s core mission. The NUST is actively involved in R&D for Pakistan’s defense sector. The NUST also sustains industry-university linkages. The NUST was also recently praised by Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani for its contributions to the Pakistan Army’s nation building efforts. Additionally, in 2003, a committee chaired by Lt.-Gen M. Akram Khan identified the NUST as one of four prospective Pakistani universities for industry-university defense research collaboration.
