The NUST also sustains industry-university linkages. The NUST was also recently praised by Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani for its contributions to the Pakistan Army’s nation building efforts. Additionally, in 2003, a committee chaired by Lt.-Gen M. Akram Khan identified the NUST as one of four prospective Pakistani universities for industry-university defense research collaboration.
