'Abdur Rasheed Kârdâr' is the correct phonetic spelling. ‘Abdul Rashid’ is the spelling used by film journalists not aware of Urdu phonetics. The director, as can be seen from this screenshot of his big-budget flop, Dil Diya Dard Liya (1966), only used his initials.
