Amarjeet Kaypee was the highest run getter in the Ranji Trophy, when he retired in October 2000, with 7623 runs from 109 games and an average of 54.06. At that stage he was followed by Ajay Sharma of Delhi who had 7421 runs from 87 matches.

He captained the Haryana team in 31 Ranji matches, in which his team won 13, lost three and drew 12.

However, he was never given the chance of playing for the country and was given a chance to play in only four matches in the Duleep Trophy.

His highest score of 210 not out was against Delhi in 1986-87.
