2018

As in August

August 17, 2018: The Times of India

Although double trap has been taken out of the World Cup series and Olympics, the event has made it to the Asiad. With a Commonwealth Games gold and a former World No. 1’s tag in the bag, the Delhi boy will start his campaign as favourite. Since Chinese and Koreans are not known to have done well in the shotgun events, Mittal’s challenge will come from UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman shooters. Anish Bhanwal: The 16-year-old is certainly India’s most promising bet to win a medal at the Asiad. He has shot some great scores in the last one year, and won gold medals in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and Junior World Cup in the 25m rapid fire pistol event. But the youngster looked under pressure in senior category events. He will face a tough field in Jakarta – World No. 1 Jin Junmin (China), No. 6 Kim Junhong (S Korea), No. 7 Yao Zhaonan (China) and No. 10 Jong Ho Song (S Korea).
