How Arpita Entered Salim Khan’s Household
Once, Salim Khan, during his regular morning walks, noticed an ill beggar on the footpath seeking alms with her young daughter. Seeing the condition of the lady, and the subsequent state of the little girl, the kind-hearted Salim ji started getting food for the duo.
Then one day, when the acclaimed writer-lyricist was on his regular walk, he saw that the lady had passed away, and her little daughter was crying. Salim ji knew he couldn’t leave the girl alone on the cruel streets of Bombay to fend for herself. So, he held her hand gently, and brought her home.
Once there, he asked the little girl her name. She replied, with tears still in her eyes, “Arpita”. Salim ji introduced the girl to his family, who gladly welcomed her into their household. Soon, the process of adoption followed.

Arpita Khan is reported to be an adopted daughter of Salim Khan. There are different stories which float around her adoption. It is believed that Salim and Salma Khan saw Arpita, when her mother died after giving birth to her in Mumbai. Other reports also suggest that Helen had got her home after she found her crying on a footpath.
Not many know that the 25-year old bride happens to be a fashion graduate from the very prestigious London College Of Fashion. She has a degree in fashion marketing and management. In an interview to TOI, Arjun admitted to being in a serious relationship with Arpita when he was 18 years old. He revealed that the two of them dated for two years till one day Arpita broke up with him. Arjun said he was so scared of Salman Khan that he went up to his entire family and told them about his relationship with Arpita. But Salman was always very supportive of the two of them. Apparently, there was news that when Arjun's debut film 'Ishaqzaade' had released, Arpita had booked the entire theatre to just watch the film! Arpita is still close to Arjun and she stood by him during his mother's cancer as well.
Nihar Pandya- Deepika Padukone's former boyfriend and model Nihar Pandya was apparently also Arpita Khan's boyfriend at one point of time. If rumours are anything to go by then after dating Arjun Kapoor, Arpita set her eyes on model Nihar Pandya. But theirs wasn't a long lasting relationship and the two broke up soon after. Angad Bedi- After her last relationship with Nihar Pandya crumbled, Arpita met Angad Bedi through a common friend. Angad Bedi is cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi's son and an actor. According to rumours, Arpita and Angad broke up as he apparently didn't like the fact that she was a compulsive shopper. Arpita on the other hand felt that he was too flirtatious with other girls.
Varun Shashi Rao- If the strong current of rumours are to be believed then the man in Arpita Khan's life in early 2014 was Varun Shashi Rao. Varun is a model and an aspiring actor. Apparently Varun also plays for the Celebrity Cricket League team Mumbai Heroes which Arpita's brothers Salman and Sohail Khan also play for. The whole Khan-daan was in attendance with several celebrities from the industry joining in.

Shah Rukh Khan was the highlight of Arpita Khan's sangeet ceremony that took place at her residence with her family. The wedding preparations were in full swing and reportedly SRK stayed there till six in the morning. Bollywoodlife reports a source informing that he was extremely warm to everyone and made it a point to stay and have a chat with everyone. The report further states that SRK also gifted Arpita a huge super expensive hamper with designer bags. Apparently, Shah Rukh spent a lot of time sitting and chatting with Salman and his dad Salim Khan.
