Awadhia

Ayodhia, or Ayodhiribasid, literally those who live in Ayoclhya or Oudh-members of different sub-castes, who trace their origin from Ayodhya. Also a sub-caste of Nuniyas in Behar, who praotise infant-marriage and a bserve a curious custom, called asmrini sluidi, whioh requires that the bride and bridegroom shall be held off the ground during the marriage oeremony. A sub-caste or Beldars, Binds, Dhobis, Ea¬jams, Kalwars, Kumhars, Kurmis and Sonars in Behar. Sonars of this Bub-caste affeot a high standard of orthodoxy, and do not permit widows to marry again. Ayodhia Kurmisaffeotsuperiority over the other members of the caste, and do not permit widows to marry again.
