While she has a litany of grievances, including being overlooked for UPCC screening and campaign committees, one of the lesser discussed triggers for quitting may have been the party's disinterest in her keenness on launching her son, Mayank Joshi, in the upcoming UP assembly polls.
Sources told The Times of India while Joshi was herself ready to switch seats and contest the assembly polls from Allahabad -where she had served as mayor for many years, and had taught history at the Allahabad University -she was wanting a ticket for Mayank from Lucknow Cantonment, which she has held since 2012.
