Bangaon Village

Head-quarters of the subdivision of the same name in Jessore District, Bengal, situated in 23 3' N. and 88° 50' E. on the Ichamatl. Population (1901), 3,660. Bangaon is a station on the central section of the Eastern Bengal State Railway, and is also connected with the eastern section of that railway by a branch to Ranaghat. It contains the usual public offices ; the sub-jail has accommodation for 12 prisoners.
