Chandra

A family title of Kashta Baidyas, Mayaras, and Sankharis ; of Dakshin Rarhi and Bangaja Kayasths and of Subarnabaniks in Bengal. Intermarriage is prohibited within the title, which, though not one of the recognised gotra or eponymous sections by which marriage is regulated, has thus come to be virtually exogamous.
