Taking the wind out of a Melur-based couple's claim that actor Dhanush is their son and that he had certain birth marks, a medical report submitted in the Madurai bench of the Madras high court said the actor had neither a mole on his left collar bone nor a scar on the left elbow, as claimed by the couple.
The report was submitted to Justice P N Prakash who has been holding in-camera proceedings in the case.
When the court asked whether birth identification marks could be erased completely using laser technique, the medical team said: "It is possible to remove a small superficial mole completely, but a scar can't be removed by plastic surgery and only scar reduction can be done. If a large mole is removed, its traces can be seen through dermascope. A scar can't be removed by plastic surgery. Only a scar reduction can be done," the report said.
However, after completion of in-camera proceedings, counsel for the couple S Titus said: "The medical report was opened. It came to be known that the identification marks, mentioned by the couple, had been removed through laser technique."
But the claim was denied by counsel for Dhanush.
The court had warned the parties that it would be constrained to take severe action against those who submitted false information to the court.

MADURAI: The Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Friday allowed a petition filed by Tamil actor Dhanush seeking to quash the proceedings in a judicial magistrate court in Melur on a case filed by a couple who claim to be his parents.
The couple - R Kathiresan (65) of Madurai and his wife Meenakshi (53) - moved the magistrate court seeking maintenance from the actor claiming that the actor was their son. The actor stated that he was not their son and that somebody was behind the couple to extract money from him. The couple mentioned that their son (Dhanush) had a mole on the collar and a scar on the forearm, which the actor denied.
The court ordered for verification of Dhanush's identification marks. The medical examination report denied the couple's claim about the identification marks. However, the couple's counsel S Titus alleged that the identification marks mentioned by the couple had been removed by using a laser technic and the same could be proved in the trial by cross examining doctors concerned.
After hearing concerned sides, Justice P N Prakash reserved his order on April 11. On Friday, the judge passed an order allowing the Dhanush's petition, by which proceedings pending before the magistrate court has been set aside. (On March 2, the high court stayed the proceedings in Melur court.)
