Joins Chris Adler as lead vocalist of Firstborne

Ruchika Uniyal, July 3, 2020: The Times of India

Singer Girish Pradhan from Sikkim, who has established himself in India’s rock music scene in recent years, has now joined iconic group Megadeth’s former drummer Chris Adler as the lead vocalist in a new metal band Firstborne. The band’s debut extended play record (EP) was released on June 19. Pradhan’s phone hasn’t stopped buzzing since then.

“Friends and family have been calling to congratulate me. It is obviously a dream come true to work alongside a legend like Adler,” said the 34-year-old whose musical journey has taken him from Sikkim to Bengaluru where he is based as frontman for hard rock band Girish and The Chronicles.

It was in Bengaluru last year that Pradhan met the Grammy-winning drummer and founder of the heavy metal band Lamb of God. “Adler was touring India in November and my band got to share the stage with him. After that he wanted to see more of my work. I was thrilled and sent him demos. He told me that he and his friends were looking to make some new tracks and asked me to join in,” he told TOI.
