Jinnah Tower

Jinnah Tower is a landmark monument in the city of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. It is known as after the father of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and is placed on Mahatma Gandhi Road of the city as a symbol of peace and concord. The tower become erected on six pillars which open to a dome, common of the then Muslim architecture in early 20th century. The tower is currently in a nation of overlook and crumbling. According to the State Archaeology Department, the tower can be added below the list of included monuments if it has history of greater than 60 years.

About its origins, one tale is that a consultant of Jinnah, Judaliyaquat Ali Khan, visited Guntur inside the pre-Independence era. Khan was felicitated through Lal Jan Basha, the grandfather of the present Telugu Desam Party Rajya Sabha member, S. M. Laljan Basha and he got a tower built inside the honour of the dapper Muslim League leader.

According to another narrative,  Municipal Chairman, Nadimpalli Narasimha Rao and Tellakula Jalayya had been responsible for the duration of their respective phrases of office for the development of the tower as a symbol of peace and harmony.
