Islamnagar

Town in the Bisauli Tahsil of Budaun District, United Provinces, situated in 28' 20' N. and 78^ 44' E., 6 miles south-east of the Kahjol station on the Oudh and Rohilkhand Rail- way. Population (1901), 6,367. During the Mutiny, in May, 1858, there was a skirmish near this place between a body of rebels and the troops of the loyal Nawab of Rampur, the latter being victorious. The town is administered under Act XX of 1856, with an income of about Rs. 1,500. It is the chief market in the neighbourhood for agricultural produce, and there is a large export of raw sugar. It contains a dispensary and a middle school with 112 pupils.
