Kalahasti Tahsil

Zamindari tahsil in the Kalahasti zamin- dari in the north-east of North Arcot District, Madras, lying between if 14' and 13 degree 55' N. and 79 degree 27' and 79 degree 59' E. Area, 638 square miles; population in 1901, 94,132, compared with 81,860 in 1891. The tahsil contains 324 villages and one town, Kalahasti (population, 11,992), the head-quarters. Demand for peshkash and land cess in 1903-4, Rs. 78,000.
