Chal-Kalyana

Town in the Dadri tahsil of Jind State, Punjab, situated in 28 degree 33' N. and 76 degree 16' E., 5 miles east of Dadri town. Population (1901), 2,714. It was the capital of Kalyan of the Chal tribe, a Raja who in 1325 rebelled against Alaf Khan, son of Ghiyas-ud-dln Tughlak, king of Delhi, and was defeated and slain by Saiyid Hidayatullah Khan, who also fell and whose tomb still exists.
