Kick is a blockbuster Hindi-Urdu film starring Salman Khan, film actor .

Box-office performance

According to a report in Koimoi, Kick crossed the 26 crore mark on the first day of its release. As a result, the film now holds the record of the fourth highest opening day ever. The Times of India added, ‘Salman Khan is roaring aloud as Devil in Kick with a bumper box office opening.’ On its second day it earned Rs 27.10 crore. Koimoi estimates the opening weekend collections at between Rs 83 and 85 crore, and all this was during the pious month of Ramzan when a substantial section of filmgoers avoid entertainment, including cinema. According to Koimoi, 'Kick' had made Rs 97.70 crore [in the first 4 days] and Rs.127crore in 5 days. On its sixth day it made Rs 21 crore. Thus, in its first six days it has earned Rs 147.7 crore. By the seventh day it had grossed Rs 232 crore worldwide.

By the end of its second Saturday, Kick had earned Rs183.70 crore from the Indian box office alonein nine days. It made Rs.10.50 crore on its 2nd Saturday, which shows a slowdown but is still very good for a second Saturday. During the same nine days it made $8.3 million(Rs.50.49 crore) internationally.

By the afternoon of its 11th day Kick had collected Rs 313 crore (Rs 50 crore overseas; Rs 262 crores domestic) and had become the sixth highest overseas grosser of all times; overall it was the 5th biggest hit (behind only Dhoom 3, Krrish 3, Chennai Express and 3 Idiots).

On its third Friday, Kick made Rs 1.97 crore, making the cumulative 15-day domestic total Rs 216.97 crore; in addition to Rs 65 crore earned overseas. Kick thus became the biggest hit of 2014, overtaking '2 States' and 'Queen'. It also became the eighth highest overseas grosser ever. (Source Koimoi)

By the end of its 18th day (Monday) Kick had collected Rs 225.1 crore within India, and Rs 366.72 crore worldwide, taking it ahead of Krrish 3 and Chennai Express. This is the first time when a Salman film crossed the Rs 200-crore mark.

After 24 days Kick had earned Rs.230.80 crore (domestic) and Rs 374.50 crore worldwide. It thus became the 3rd highest domestic earner ever (after Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3) and India’s fourth highest worldwide earner (after Dhoom 3/ Rs542 crore; Chennai Express/ Rs422 crore and 3 Idiots/ Rs395 crore.)

By its 5th Wednesday Kick was playing at just under 100 screens around the country and had earned Rs.232.97 crore at the domestic box office. Its lifetime domestic earnings are estimated at Rs233 crore.Koimoi

Devil, the sequel?

If reports are to be believed, a sequel to Sajid Nadiadwala's blockbuster hit of 2014, Kick, is already underway. According to a report in DNA, Sajid Nadiadwala has registered the title Devil which implies that talks of a sequel are on. A source has been quoted in the report as saying that Sajid Nadiadwala was very happy to the response that the 'Devil' song garnered and post rumours that the sequel would be called Devil, Sajid thought it would be apt to register the title.
