Koraput
The district headquarter Koraput is the base for visiting different tribal areas inhabited by Dangaria Kandha, Koyas, Parajas and Bondas. To visit more isolated areas and have real look at the tribal life and culture, tourist need to obtain permission from concerned District Administration. Adorned by the majestic Deomali Mountain, Koraput is most fascinating manifestation of creation with her undulating meadow, roaring rapids, whispering forest and terraced valleys. She offers a splendid blending of natural beauty and ethnic treasure with sublime sense deeply interfused. Spreadover rural tranquility and great forest lands. Sprawling grass lands and valleys leading up to verdant hills makes it cradle of nature. The muted song of gurgling brook with melodious call of cuckoo and franrance of wild flower mirrors natures own eternal symphony.
Koraput with her golden autumn and misty mornings of the monsoon months, her painted spring and slumbering summer provides varieties of living perhaps unmatched anywhere in the world. The elevating ghat roads spirally ascending the lofty hills and decending the steep valleys with blind curves make a journey thrilling. Railway passing through tannels piercing the heart of mountains, winding their way and encircling the green hills touching different picturesque spots enroute brings heaven to earth. In Koraput you realize what Wordsworth must have meant when he talked of man’s communication with nature.

Another coffee, namely A1, from the same area, was also recognized as one of the award recipients.
Coffee cultivators
Approximately 50 tribal farmers in Odisha's Khudubu village are engaged in coffee cultivation, a practice shared by many residents in the nearby village of Gollur.
Land dedicated to coffee cultivation
Presently, the area boasts more than 3,500 hectares of land dedicated to coffee cultivation and approximately 4,300 growers.
Odisha's share in coffee production
Out of the 3.5 lakh metric tonnes of coffee produced in India up to July this year, Odisha's share accounted for only 1%. However, there is a strong aspiration to transform the state into a significant coffee hub.
Idea introduced in 1930
The idea of coffee cultivation in the region was introduced by local minor royal Rajbahadur Deo of Jeypore in 1930. However, neither his efforts nor the post-independence initiatives in the early 1950s made a significant impact.
Fair prices for growers
To ensure fair prices for growers and eliminate middlemen, the Tribal Cooperative Development Corporation (TCDC) directly purchases coffee from farmers.
