Kunda Fort

Ruined fort in the head-quarters subdivision of Hazaribagh District, Bengal, situated in 24° 13' N. and 84° 39' E. It is in the form of a parallelogram, about 280 feet long by 170 feet broad, with a square central entrance tower on the west front, and four square corner towers connected by straight battlemented walls with an average height of 30 feet. It was admirably suited for defence, being situated on a tongue of land projecting into a basin surrounded by hills, except on the east side, where it commands a gorge.
