Labpur

Village in the head-quarters subdivision of Blrbhum Dis- trict, Bengal, situated in 23° 49' N. and 87° 49' E., on the Suri-Katwa road, 7 miles east of Ahmadpur station on the East Indian Railway. Population (1901), 750, It contains a temple of the goddess Phullara, where there is a curious practice of feeding jackals. Labpur is a pithasthdn or sacred place, where the lips of the goddess Sati are said to have fallen.
