Petty State in the Khasi Hills, Eastern Bengal and Assam. The population in 1901 was 8,464, and the gross revenue in 1903-4 was Rs. 1,570. The principal products are pepper, bay-leaves, honey, rice, potatoes, millet, and maize. Lime and iron are found, but are not worked. Imported iron is manufactured into hoes and bill-hooks.
