Mami Varte is a Mizo pop-rock singer who started singing at the age of 12. She is undoubtedly one of the best singers in Mizoram, and is most renowned for her debut album ‘Damlai Par,’ released in 2007. She says that in Mizoram, a majority of the population loves to listen to pop-rock and that’s how she connects with her audience.
