Sponsors: Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA), Trinity Communications, Ao Kitchen, Amonar tea, BNS host, World of titan and Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA).

Master Omendiba, who had a heart problem and had undergone surgery sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dimapur sometime before the contest and was to undergo surgery again, contributed to the pageant.

Kevizenuo Deze: 1st runner up

Vilokali: 2nd runner up

The winning answer

Veineinem Singson won the crown partly by suggesting that moral values, self confidence, discipline and hard work (and, according to Eastern Mirror Nagaland, sex education, generosity, bravery and self contentment) were what children urgently needed if we are to build a just society.

Biographical details of the Top Three

Veineinem Singson (born 1992): Then studying for her B.A at St. Joseph’s College Jakhama. Wants to become an administrative officer. She is a Thadou. ‘For a wider scope people recognise me as Kuki,’ she adds. (The Kukis are pan-NE and Thadou is a sub-group).

Kevizenuo Deze (born 1991): She had just been awarded her bachelor’s degree.

Vilokali Sumi (born 1997) was studying in class 11 at St. Mary Montessori Higher secondary school at the time.
