Medanta Medicity in Gurgaon has grown rapidly under him. Last December, Washingtonbased asset management firm Carlyle Group picked up a 26% stake in the hospital for Rs.960 crore, from US-based PE firm Avenue Capital, valuing the company at Rs.3,550 crore.
Because he is leading Medanta on an expansion spree: from super specialty OPD clinics dotting the capital, new hospitals in Indore, Lucknow and even Africa, to R&D activities with US universities.
He is working with the Union Government on affordable and high quality healthcare.
