The Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (PINSTECH) is Pakistan's major nuclear research and development institute.
The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission established PINSTECH to address Pakistan's lack of trained manpower and scientific infrastructure. In 1965, the facility's reactor building and secondary buildings were completed, and various laboratories, workshops, and a library became operational in 1974.
Pakistan's PARR-1 and PARR-2 research reactors are located at PINSTECH, as are the New Laboratories Reprocessing Facility and the Experimental Reprocessing Facility.
